Yes, we are very different breed of a coffee shop.

We opened our doors into a city where corporate brands were the ultimate yard stick for that much anticipated coffee date. We thrived in a city where UV-lit ho**ah parlors playing regional autotuned indipop were the place to go for budding romances. We lived through the drastically changing restaurant scenario with pubs crawling up in every nook and corner. And yet, here we are - not long after the most rock n' roll brand in the world opened their doors in the city of joy - bidding goodbye for now. We are Woodstock 1969, Kolkata's first and only true rock n' roll cafe.

Through the 990 days of our existence - which we (hopefully and optimistically) call PHASE I - we have seen human experiences up close and personal. Coffee brewed, romance tingled to the aroma of Hot Chocolate. Friendships were forged with shared Monster Meat Burgers. Butterbeers were on toast to the lost Potterheads in us. Cool Mojitos quenched the thirst of harried college going couples, in the hot Summer Sun, looking for a place to momentarily escape the farce called Life. We've seen sold out rock shows. We've seen the lonely singer crooning alone - no listener in sight. We've hosted epic birthday parties. We've hosted epic break-up parties. We have seen that young girl storming out after an argument with her lover. We have seen the elderly couple share one of their best moments together. We've seen groups of friends rocking out. Yes, it has been quite an experience.
While typing this, it all feels surreal.

It is like looking at yourself 'Through Glass' that wasn't there.

" I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God, it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head.

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget, you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of hope
And while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me."
- Corey Taylor, Stone Sour, July 2006

We'd like to thank every soul that has visited us, supported us, had laughs with us, rocked it out together and enjoyed what we served. Without you people, we would not have made past day 1. We've had a great run. Every great run must end to give way for a bigger spectacle.

And yet, this is not Goodbye. We'll see you soon. Till then, hold tight and keep rocking the scene. And gear up for PHASE II (we're kind of like the MCU in that way).

GOODBYE FOR NOW. CHEERS.
