Tai Sen is more than a restaurant—it is the journey of a family carried across borders, kept alive through memory, and served with heart. Our story begins in the Hakka villages of China, where food was more than nourishment; it was survival, tradition, and togetherness. Generations later, that same spirit travelled to Kolkata’s Tangra, where our family built a new life while holding tightly to old
flavours. Named in honour of our grandfather Tai Sen (泰生), this kitchen represents the resilience of those who came before us. Every dish embodies his story: humble beginnings, relentless hard work, and an unbroken bond with heritage. With 45+ years of culinary mastery, our father (Chef Edwin) continues the legacy—crafting dishes rooted in tradition, shaped by Kolkata, and refined through experience. At Tai Sen, we serve not just food, but culture, memory, and a family’s journey across generations. Our pride. This is Tai Sen
