Every Food Lover's First Love... Biriyani
My says Biriyani came to India all the way from Iran also known as Persia but that's a wrong concept.
That's absolutely not true!
The word "Biriyani" is a distorted form of Sanskrit word "Vrihi" which eventually became "Birinj".

Quoted From Wikipedia:

One theory states that it originated from birinj (Persian: برنج‎), the Persian word for rice.[8][9] The word birinj, a middle Persian word was ultimately derived from vrihi (Sanskrit: व्रीहि) one of the Sanskrit words for rice.

So basically a pre-cooked rice with added flavours was the most important ingredient of Today's Biriyani.
And based on region, religion and Taste preferences the inputs into the Biriyani kept changing and became innovative Day by day.
Let it be Chicken, Mutton, Egg or Hilsa Fish OR
Hydrabadi, Kolkata, Tamil, Assam....
OR
Bamboo, Pardah, Dum, Matka....
You add your preferred name at the begining but the last name remains the same!
