ART OF ORIGAMI WORKSHOP WITH TOMOMI KITAMI
Born in Yokohama,Japan Tomomi graduated from the Joshibi University of Art and Design and worked in a Tokyo studio. She then studied in England and graduated from the London College of Printing Photography degree.

She and three Japanese artists founded the art project "TeTo." with the goal of connecting individuals from diverse cultures through workshops in which we educate, learn, and create works together.
The project's name was derived from the Japanese words "Te," which means "hand," and "To," which means "and..."

The emphasis of our endeavour is on handcrafting.
We think that by allowing people from diverse cultures to enjoy art together, we can foster mutual understanding that transcends nationality and ethnicity.

Peace Origami Crane

Origami is a traditional Japanese paper-craft art form. (Ori means to fold, and kami means to use paper.)
Origami is a technique that involves folding a piece of paper into various creatures such as birds, animals, and many other things without the use of scissors or paste.
You may make a variety of forms by folding a little square of paper. In Japan, children are taught how to make origami by their parents or grandparents.
They occasionally learn in kindergarten or preschool.

The crane, particularly 1,000 cranes, has great significance for the Japanese. If you truly want your desire to come true, it is believed that you should fold 1,000 cranes.

A thousand paper crane tower stands at the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome.
The cranes are a present from the world that symbolize the hope for world peace.

Origami cranes will make your wishes come true by flapping their wings in the sky.

Let's fold a crane with your wishes and thoughts for peace.

*Workshop is free for all
