Sai Niwas is the home of Inder Vijai and Usha Singh situated close to Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur. Inder Vijai is a scion of Rohet family, an estate of the erstwhile Marwar Jodhpur state. Rajendra Singhji served the Indian Cavalry and retired as the Commanding officer of the 61st Cavalry based in Jaipur. He gave his son Inder Vijai interest in being a horse polo commentator and sports critic. Inder

Vijai gives commentary on the Polo matches and works other time as a tourism personal. Out of the two children Ajitesh helps in family business, Niharika the daughter is completing her graduation at college. Mrs. Usha Singh is from Bundelkhand Region of Central India. Thus the cooking of the house is an interesting mix of Rajasthan and Central India. While visiting Sai Niwas the Guests would have a cooking demonstration / hands on experience of two dishes and chappati [ Indian bread ] making. Rest of the meal would be prepared before the arrival of the guests. Thus the hosts will be able to spend all the time with the guests. RAJASTHANI DISHES -- INTERESTING ASPECTS

Being a semi desertic state there was always a dearth of green vegetables. Therefore there was extensive usage of chick pea flour [ Besan ] dumplings called “Govind Gatta”, Chick Pea flour cooked in butter milk “ Kadhi”, Mangodi,
And papad subzi are popular dishes. Nobody in other parts of India would believe that papadams can be made into a subzi. While making meat dishes kachri [ a self seeded wild cucumber ] and yoghurt are used as tenderizer and souring . RAJASTHANI BREADS . As most hotels are giving only tandoori roti, nan, parantha so for a guest, Whole wheat chappati or a battia [ Rajasthani version of a parantha ] is a novelty. Most people in the West know corn, millet [ bajra] or sorghum
[ jowar ] as animal or bird feed. When they are shown that either of these coarse grains can make high fiber nutritious bread they are amazed. The rajasthani batti [ whole wheat round ball bread ] is another amazing novelty. DESSERT

Typical but unusual sweet dishes are served in dessert. Halwa / Lappsi [ crack wheat cooked with gur ] could be the choice. These dishes are never found on a restaurant menu. The Guests are given a small souvenir as a momento of the home visit. The home visit can be organized for minimum 04 maximum 40 guests.
