My love for baking and the memories that flood back during the course of making something; I think my first experiences in my Grandma's kitchen are so special. It is about the act of putting your hands into something and creating gives baking it's greatest appeal. It is the connection to tangible, earthy things that feed us and bring us happiness. I spend so much time with technology and modern conveniences and distractions that I find the most pleasure in picking up a wooden spoon and mixing, or rolling out with a smooth French pin. I love how my food becomes an extension of my love for someone and in essence, me. I love that moment of promise when you pull something from the oven, the endless experimentation and mutation of a form, that moment of pride when someone bites into their first bite of something you've made and their face changes into this blissful thing. Food to me is a form of expression and I believe it brings comfort and feelings of taste bud bliss!
