Dear Team SAD,
This grievance is pertaining to our tenant Mr.Deep Malhotra,( MLA Faridkot Shiromani Akali Dal) who is also owner of Oasis Group (http://www.oasisgrp.in/brand_story.php).
It was back in around 2006 that the then manager of his subsidiary had approached my father for fully furnished rental facility, which we did provide for at our residence on ground floor. Things were fine as should be between a tenant and landlord. It was later about a year back in 2015 when my better half, my new born son and I returned back to our hometown as I had earlier been posted out station on account of my studies and job.
My father already a senior citizen and my new born son made us to think that it is time we should shift to ground floor of our house as it would be convenient for the whole family. We, then humbly asked our tenant Mr.Malhotra to take time as per agreement and vacate the ground floor as it would be difficult for our family on first floor for reason mentioned above. Initially he kept buying time saying his manager are looking for alternative. It has been more than 1 agonizing year waiting for his "so called (never ending agonizing) alternate search”. Every time there was some or the other excuse and Mr Deep Malhotra now moved out of picture and made his managers deal with my father. It was appalling when this month the manager asked my father to get the whole ground floor re furnished and on the pretext withheld our monthly rent. This was the limit and absolute misuse of power by another of the many politicians which we did not imagine in wildest of our dreams.
Well I just googled MLA and read “The most important function of the Legislature is law making”. In this case it is just the opposite where he is using his political might and weak tenancy laws in India when he finally said today” I shall not vacate the house until it is re furnished” whereas we on the other hand want this person to vacate our house for which multiple reminders have been given.
I’m a bit weary from my daily office schedule ,albeit pondering this kind of Goondaraj behaviour has been prevalent since donkey years now in my country and without naming any party, this makes me feel helpless as earlier it was always reading ,following news of such cases. Now facing the music makes me feel how helpless a common man can be in our country even in this digital age where we are talking of 5G internet ,digital India, India shining to name a few .My parents, my everything are having to go through all this at this age. I WILL NOT LET THIS GOONDARAJ HAPPEN TO THEM.
All said I request your intervention from concerned departments as this is the best possible alternative for me to expose these corrupt practices in system as I have less faith in long waiting Judiciary (with due respect) and will not allow my family or God forbid anyone else’s to go through this ordeal. In line with the same case request our government to make better laws for such instances wherein a middle class income person, or a matter of fact anyone has all his savings linked to his rent and current law process is too long for the affected person and results in undue agony. Also after the thing getting sorted who shall pay for the bitter experience caused to my family and me again leaves us with some food for though.
Finally shall be forwarding this letter to all concerned political parties and who’s who in anticipation of quick action and solution to this blackmailing by Deep Malhotra. In addition I declare in advance that for any unnatural tragedy occurring on any part to my family or me, we hold this politician Deep Malhotra responsible.
