We participated in a panel discussion at Desi Cultures 2026, an online festival celebrating fermentation traditions across India, and it was amazing!

Our conversations ran deep. It was about keeping traditions alive through our hands, our hearts, and the heritage recipes.
But fermentation is not about following a formula; it’s about instinct. At NSK, the women who have spent decades perfecting their craft know, simply by the look, feel, and aroma of an ingredient, when it’s ready. That knowledge is passed from one woman to another.

Making pickles is a community effort. It takes trust, patience, and knowledge to create something truly delicious. Along the way, these women have become so much more than co-workers - they’re each other’s biggest confidantes, celebrating milestones, sharing stories, and growing together.

Beyond preserving recipes, we’ve helped create meaningful livelihoods for women in the community - and that’s the real win!
