KhanaNirvana Community Café was a world cuisine restaurant and community hub in the dynamic Indian Himalayan town of McLeodGanj, Dharamshala (H.P.). From its founding in April 1997 until it closed its doors in December 2012, KhanaNirvana served tasty, all-natural, hygienically-prepared vegetarian food from around the world in a cosy, comfortable and creative café ambience. rse crowd of faithful regulars and short-term visitors from across the globe, making it a vibrant hub of connections and reflections. As host of the Dharamshala Earthville Institute (DEVI), KhanaNirvana frequently held special community events. In 2012, KhanaNirvana closed permanently and its founders turned their energy toward a new charitable project in the nearby town of Bir: the Dharmalaya Institute for Compassionate Living (see http://dharmalaya.in). (Note that the restaurant currently operating under the name of “KhanaNirvana” has no connection with the original KhanaNirvana and is using the name “KhanaNirvana” without the permission of the founders.)
