Moghul emperors brought kofta from Persia to India , Koftas (meatballs), are various kinds.Nargisi kofta is a delicate dish to make which consist of ground meat mixture wrapped around a hard boiled egg and cooked in rich gravy.This dish is very popular in North India.It is cooked specially for Dawat & festival time.
The name Nargisi comes from the resemblance to a flower named Narcissus (Nargis), a winter flower grown in India. The flower has a yellow center (the color of cooked egg yolk), surrounded by white petals resembling the cooked egg white. Hence when the Nargisi kofta is cut in halves, resembles the flower.

It is said that Shami kebabs were actually brought to South Asia by the Syrians. In Urdu, the word “Sham” refers to ‘Syria’. Eventually, they were picked up and popularized in Mughlai cuisine.I don’t remember any “Dawat” at aur home without them since Childhood..They are traditionally made with cooking minced meat (Hath ka kuttaa hua ) with Chana dal & whole Garam masala.Grind it into a paste & add finely chopped coriander,onions & green chillies..Shallow Fry & serve .It is one of the most versatile dish which goes well with Sheermal,Roti,Pulao,Dal Chawal even you can make a sandwich with it or can serve it as a snack with coriander chatni,onion rings with a dash of Lemon!

Haleem is a traditional South Asian and Middle Eastern dish.Haleem varies from region to region.It is a meat dish cooked on slow flame with lentils,pounded Wheat and Barley for hours which have spices for flavour ! It makes for a very hearty and nutrient rich meal – high in energy, protein, fibre. Add some fried onions and chopped green chillies ,coriander with a dash of lemon and you have a meal that you can’t forget.

The word ‘shahi’ means royal and tukda means ‘a piece’..tukday means “pieces”. So shahi tukda literally gets translated to royal piece.As name suggests its a royal piece of a dessert that is rich in taste & aroma..serve is warm after mixing bread & cream together #

The word “Nihar” comes from the Urdu word, “Nahar” which means “morning”.
Nihari originated in Old Delhi during the Mughal Empire .It was slow cooked the whole night & eaten as a breakfast dish by the workers before going out for days work.
Nihari now one of the most popular & favourite dish is served for all three meals Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner.It tastes best with hot Tandoori Roti & Khushka,garnished with coriander,green chillies,ginger julienne & dash of lemon juice!
