Diabetes is metabolic syndrome. That means a diabetic's body makes less energy from the food that he eats. If 1000 calories of food was making 700 calories before the person became diabetic, after he has become diabetic his body is making just 400-500 calories from the same food.
This happens because intestines become weak due to undigested food. Undigested food stays longer in the intestines. They have less energy for peristaltic movements for absorption of nutrients. They become longer as well. Just like skin of an old person.
Diabetes can be cured by making intestines stronger. That can be done by loading less food in intestines while increasing the energy for peristaltic movements.
Diabetes has nothing to do with sugar or carbs intake. There is no study in the world that links diabetes with carb or sugar intake.
I have done some experiments with diabetics. These are only with 3 people at this time.
The experiment is -
3 to 4 days in a week skip dinner. That can be done on alternate days.
From 6 pm to 10 pm (till sleeping time) take 10 grams of gur (jaggery or it can be even sugar) every 15 to 20 minutes. Total jaggery intake should be 125 to 150 grams. After 6 pm no water or any other fluid is to be taken.
This 150 grams of gur will give 600 calories. That is more than the energy that your dinner would have given you. Besides you will save 100 to 150 calories that your body spends on digesting regular dinner. Gur digestion does not need energy. So first target is met. Availability of energy is increased so that stronger wave like movements can be made by intestines to absorb nutrients from the food.
Second target was to reduce the load of food on intestines. Normal dinner with water etc would be 600 grams to 1000 grams. That is replaced with 150 grams of gur which is divided into 10 grams at a time. This 10 grams is digested within 15 minutes. So at any time the load in intestines is 10 grams instead of 600-1000 grams. That will help intestines become stronger due to the rest that it gets for 18 hours, if the person takes lunch at 2 pm and next breakfast at 8 am.
The other things that are of concern are -
Spike in blood sugar and insulin after sugar intake due to fast absorption in the blood. In this case jaggery consumption is spread over 4 to 5 hours. That will not cause any spike.
The above improves - sleep, bowel movement, kidney function, liver function, cholesterol, B12, D3, less hunger, less thirst.
These are signals that your diabetes is on the way to recovery. Get your blood test done after 7 days to compare the above results with previous results.
