The English Tea room at The Faraway Tree was born out of a deep love for everything slow and beautiful. Out of love of long conversations, for the love of England, for the life long love of reading, for the love o Enid Blyton who has been a great source of comfort and and escape from all things sad and mundane for children across the world, and of course for the love of tea! Tea beckons us to enjoy quality time with friends and family, and especially to rediscover the art of relaxed conversation. It is finally about the conversations we have, isn't it? We become strangers when we have nothing to say to one another. When one understands the brevity of life, its fleeting joys and unavoidable pains, one also understands the importance of slowing down. Happiness really is in these little things .. a stunning scenery, an interesting book, a heart warming conversation, a long walk, a delicious meal, listening to some soul stirring music.. If you can enjoy these little things you are blessed. At our tea room, half the proceeds go for a cause . You share our joy when we help and empathise with humans whose experiences we have never shared, to make the path brighter and easier for the little children who are not for won , but need support for the journey ahead. And for this, we thank you. 'The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer' - Mahatma Gandhi. We have tried to create a menu with something for everyone. We have a diverse selection of gluten free meals, vegan shakes and organic loose leaf teas to choose from. We are a part of a gorgeous gallery that sells contemporary Indian art. The space not only allows visitors to view a wide selection of art work, or experience a dynamic gallery space, but also engage in conversation with the owner who is an art aficionado. On the wall on the tea room side to make available 'affordable' art, we display small works of established artist and works of new or upcoming artist as well as encourage an aspiring collector. So enjoy your time here..hold on to these sunny afternoons and glorious late sunsets.. and those priceless conversations. After all, where else is beauty to be found?
