Alpha Bar - The ‘Silent’ Disc
Cue the Swaying coconut trees and the sound of waves crashing into the shore. That just about sums it all up. No line more aptly defines the very nature of Alpha Bar set up 100 metres away from the shore of the serene Palolem Beach. How else would you describe the waves it has created without even making so much than a squeak of a noise? Revolutionary is what it is.
Alpha Bar has captured the imagination of many and has created frenzy among those frequent party-goers who either stumbled across this place by mistake or innocently wandered out of curiosity into the midst of a latter said revolution. Located bang on the Palolem beach, Alpha Bar is not that hard to locate. Just what every lazy holiday-goer would want. Simplicity. The concept on its own is pretty much simple;
Every Thursday, you pick up your headphones at the venue, walk in and choose between the 2 Disc Jockeys doling out killer beats on two cans around your ears. Two cans which are actually cleverly disguised portals that will lead you to be transported to ‘a better place’. Let me break the idea down;
It’s like a 100 different people around you are having the same dream that you are. Inception never sounded this realistic now did it? And if Alpha Bar doesn’t receive props for being innovative alone, their quality in terms of equipment and technology is tech-tastic to say the least. (Sometimes technicians just come down to drool at the equipment.) Let’s not forget about Mr. E (Alpha Bars very own resident Disc Jockey), who will transport you and a dozen others to another dimension. The music has a league of its own. If you do decide to be greeted by the monotonous sounds of commercial music anywhere else, so be it. But if you decide that you do want something more and something better, Mr. E will give it to you in the form of pure, unadulterated EDM. So be a part of some of the most (other-worldly) happenings in Goa. Let Mr. E and Alpha Bar give you a bang for your buck. All of this, within the legal decibel limit. Dream with your eyes wide open, every Thursday. Silence they say is underrated. We can’t hear you yet. Cat got your tongue?
