Join us this Tuesday 17th March at Cantine indienne for an evening of Latin Jazz with some of the most excellent Jazz talents there is in India!
Villanos Para Bien is an eclectic ensemble dedicated to exploring the vibrant musical traditions of Cuba, Brazil, and the many diverse cultures of Latin America. Drawing inspiration from styles such as the infectious grooves of Cuban Montuno, the driving rhythms of Brazilian Samba, and other rich Afro-Latin traditions, the band creates a dynamic musical experience that celebrates rhythm, melody, and improvisation.
Blending elements of jazz with Latin American rhythmic traditions, Villanos Para Bien crafts performances that are both energetic and deeply expressive. Their music moves effortlessly between intricate rhythmic conversations and soaring melodic passages, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the colourful soundscape of the Americas.
Niranjan Joshi (Keys)
Mumbai-based pianist, composer and producer blending jazz and Indian music, who has performed with leading artists like Sanjay Divecha and Atif Aslam.
Tamaghna “Bihu” Mukherjee (Drums)
Latin drummer and percussionist who has performed with top Indian jazz and fusion artists and toured internationally with Bollywood composer Pritam.
Umesh Warbhuvan (Percussion)
Versatile percussionist trained under Trilok Gurtu and Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, known for bridging Indian rhythmic traditions with global contemporary music.
Aditya Ahir (Bass)
Dynamic young bassist from India known for his groove-driven style across jazz, fusion and world music, performing with leading artists and ensembles nationwide.
Shirish Malhotra (Sax & Flute)
Award-winning Indian jazz musician who has performed in over 30 countries with artists like Zakir Hussain, Louis Banks and Arijit Singh.
