The meaning of ‘Dar’ is ‘home’ and the TAMARIN feels relaxed – just like home – whether dining or just enjoying a coffee and cake in its pretty Mediterranean garden setting. Whilst the menu is Mediterranean, focusing heavily, although not entirely, on North Africa & the Middle East, there is a small select menu of Kashmiri favourites so that Bilal and Sayeed can showcase their cooking roots. ve a passion for home cooking and produce almost all of our food on site, including bread, baked goods, yogurt and much more. We grow many of our own herbs at the restaurant and endeavor to source the freshest of local ingredients, only opting for imports when the local produce just won’t do! TAMARIN opened for its first season in 2012/2013 and after just a few months of operation was nominated by the Times of India in the Best Mediterranean Restaurant section of their Food & Nightlight Awards. We are proud to announce that we were lucky enough to secure that title in the award elections that were held on the 22nd Dec 2013. We can announce that we have been nominated for this award for a second year, winners will be announced on the 21st December 2014, so watch this space! TAMARIN have also been given a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor for consistently receiving positive reviews throughout 2013/2014. TAMARIN boast to be the only restaurant in North Goa offering genuine imported Italian Lavazza coffee. Some have said the best coffee in Goa, indeed the best coffee in India!!
