When you want something with al your heart ,truly the Universe listens!I’ve been on this long quest for the perfect Christmas fruit cake recipe because there was always something missing in my fruitcakes ,the texture,colour and the cakes tended to be very dry!The answer came in the announcement of Cheryl Rajkumar’s Christmas bake off and I immediately jumped at this wonderful chance to crack the nuances of the elusive fruit cake.
Having been fortunate to have participated in Cheryl’s earlier bake off I knew the bake off would be loaded with all the minute details and loads of useful information from procurement of ingredients to the final baking process.In the bake off I had to unlearn a lot of things too!!I enjoyed reading about the history offruit cakes very much!
I cannot describe the feeling of joy when I took my lovely dark dense fruity Christmas cake out of the oven !
Thanks to all my fellow bakers for all the helpful tips.we were all bound together in the bake off inspite of all us juggling many roles in our daily lives!
Last but not least thank you dear Cheryl for your generosity,sharing of knowledge,patience ,strict deadlines and handholding all of us every step of the bake off!I liked the way you had structured the Bake off and the time lines!Eliminations reminded me of Master Chef!!😅Thanks once again and I can’t wait for Christmas to enjoy the Christmas Fruit cake!Ps:-Recipe cannot be shared.
