This was the menu at an Andhra Brahmin wedding in Gurgaon and this responsibility/ opportunity was given to me. Initially I was sceptical if I could do it . There would be help but the staff are totally new to this food and finally it was my responsibility to ensure that the entire meal turns out good.
I was able to pull it off and the guests just loved the food and the compliments were overwhelming π I was stumped totally.
The bride and groom have been very kind to send me their testimonial. Sharing it here .
One of the things we wanted at our wedding was a traditional Andhra meal after the ceremony. Living in Delhi, this proved to be a challenge since it would require expertise that our venue didnβt have. Thatβs where Chef Sumitra came in, our momβs find on Instagram. The Andhra bhojanam was the first to be finalized, and honestly the variety that Chef put together was amazing right from the planning stage. The variety in the meal was incredible, from cabbage Vada and mirchi bajji to more regional delicacies such as artikaya avakoora and vankaya pulusu pacchadi, all absolutely delicious. It was also one of the meals we were personally able to enjoy after the ceremony and it was a true delight. All the items were excellent, home style, without unnecessary spice or oil, just like Andhra meals should be. We had guests attend from all across the world and each one of them relished the meal. Having traditional avakais, pacchadis, and podis was the perfect finishing touch. It was one of the most memorable meals from our wedding and we cannot thank Chef Sumitra enough for curating it for us with such finesse.
