Much care has been taken to recreate the feeling, with the tastefully done décor, silk tapestry, and exquisite silver ware. From one end of the wall to the other, there is a Pullman-style carriageway which makes you feel like you’re dining inside an actual train. The food too reflects this rich past and is an interesting mélange of the cuisines of several states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab. It also serves a great variety of Anglo-Indian dishes. Wash down your meal with a fairly exhaustive wine list or opt for favourite cocktails such as margaritas, mojito or the caiprioska. The desserts are as exotic as the rest of the meal. Tuck into a litchi ki tehri or a flambéed gulab jamun or a pineapple halwa, and end your experience on a sweet note.
