Honestly don't know how this one appeared in my feed.

Why it is intriguing is that, just two days back I happened to see a crab getting cooked alive.

No, I didn't research about it. Just chose to wipe it away from my memory - how convenient right...!!! Well, sometimes also known as survival memory loss. :)

Crabs are generally dropped in boiling water alive. And the struggle they make is pain staking to not observe.

This article below that randomly appeared in my feed addresses is exactly this point.

I come from a coastal upbringing and everyone around eats sea food and it is definitely the way of life around here and livelihood for many as well.

Pretty crabby right...!!!

Cochin Diaries...

Have you seen this delicacy...!!!

This is made from Jackfruit and Rice flour with grated coconut and some cumin for flavour which is then cooked with molten Jaggery...

And after this becomes a concentrated jam sort of thing, it is packed in Indian Bay leaf.... And steamed.....!!!

Viola there you have an amazing Delicacy called 'Kumbalappam', 'Edannappam', 'Varannaappam', Chakkappam etc....

Mama F***y is saddened by fact that instead of living and trading in harmony, fraudulent shortcuts, unfairness and plagiarism seem to appeal to youth today. We saw one particular restaurant even using our menu names, the recipes, and contacting friends of Fat F***y’s claiming we re-opened. However, the quality, love and generations of trust doesn't come with just copying the names and recipes. We wish them well, and hope they learn this life lesson someday.

If you were/are contacted by anybody claiming to represent Fat F***y’s may we request your support in passing a simple message onto them, our national motto: “Satyameva Jayate”.

To assure the friends of Fat F***y's, we have NOT re-opened or authorised another outlet. We are still recovering from the losses and the impact of fire that destroyed the cafe. But the brand is still alive in all of you, our unwavering supporters, and we are working on it getting back.

The Fat F***y’s family is devastated, but we refuse to be defeated. The Café may not physically exist at the moment, but the values we embodied and the love we continue to receive from our guests - our extended family, cannot be taken away from us. 2017 dawned on us resetting us further off than square one, but we will be back soon.

With the first official communique we intend to get some facts right, and take in energy and love, from friends and family whom we have showered with love through our food and experience so far.

Facts:
- Yes, it is true, the cafe has been burnt to ashes, including all our precious heirlooms, antiques and our lives savings,
- Yes, and F***y thanks her stars, no loss to life
- No, it wasn’t a cylinder blast, it was a wiring issue, the gas cylinders were removed from the cafe

Can't thank the guests and staff enough for courageously trying to fight it, and then evacuating the building,
The Building Owner, Cops, Fire Brigade for responding and lending us a helping hand,
Our neighbors and other shop owners for consoling us and supporting us...

There has been an overwhelming count of calls and messages consoling us on this dreadful event…….
Thank you to all our well-wishers calling us with kind words, thank you, it means a lot to us to know that you care.
“Burnt”. Ironically that was one complaint regarding food that we never received from our guests in our 2 years of service so far.
Our passion burns brighter than any fire and we have a great community, well fed with our comfort food for soul, now comforting us. We love you all and we will rise from the ashes, we will be back.
