One of Chef Davidā€™s favourite breakfast dishes: Bakwa and Egg Sandwich.
The hero ingredient in it is the Bakwa. But what is Bakwa?
Bakwa is a sweet and salty dried meat product, similar to jerky. Itā€™s traditionally made with pork, but youā€™ll also find versions made with beef, mutton and chicken. At Kopitiam Lah, we make ours with chicken. Itā€™s thin, chewy, smoky and has a caramelised char. Itā€™s traditionally eaten during Lunar New Year celebrations in Malaysia and Singapore.
