What food delivery services don’t offer?
Time: They eat away a lot of time from customer’s life! I have never seen anyone get an order from food panda delivered before 60 mins, and I’ve ordered a lot! Some other startups in delivery area such as swiggy also take a lot of time. The traffic conditions are much worse in Bangalore than when these companies started their operations. It takes a lot of time for delivery person to reach a restaurant, then confirm from customer where the address is, and then finally cross traffic congestion and reach customer and deliver. People don’t like to wait for 10 mins in a restaurant, why will they wait for 60 min? Convenience? No, discounts.
Quality: It takes a hotel 10 mins to prepare the order (usually in peak hours). In best case scenario, it takes min 5 mins to pack the food item and send the delivery boy out for delivery. (He arrives at hotel, parks the bike, asks for the order, makes an entry in a register, waits for a person to come back from kitchen with food, bill is prepared, makes a call to customer to confirm the address, and then he starts for the customer’s destination). Customer’s destination, on an average, is around 5 km away from the restaurant. To reach the customer’s destination, it takes him around 10 mins (again best case scenario). Then after reaching the apartments, after making entry in visitor’s book and finding out the apartment, to actually handover the food to customer, it takes around 5 mins. Hence total of 20 mins after the order is prepared; it is served to the customer. You really think that after so much time, it will retain the same quality?
Peace of mind: If you have paid for your dinner, and you have to wait for 1 hour, peace of mind is the last thing you expect.
