Taste our truly exceptional biryani, which has been recreated from the royal court recipes of the last Nawab of Awadh, Wajid Ali Shah, a great patron of Mughlai cuisine. When banished to Kolkata from Delhi by the British in 1856 he took with him hundreds of Bawarchis, Khansamas and Masalachis. On his premature passing, these specialist workers dissipated into the population, starting a variety of

eateries across the burgeoning megacity. Over the years, these exotic court recipes integrated with the local cuisine and so evolved a signature taste & flavour that is unique to Kolkata.
