ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ದಂತಕಥೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶಂಕರ್ ನಾಗ್ ಅವರ ಸವಿ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ. ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯಿಂದ ತೆರೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವ ತುಂಬಿದ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು. ಅಳಿಸಲಾಗದ ಛಾಪನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಯ ಹೊಸ ಅಲೆಯನ್ನೇ ತಂದರು.

ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ಚಿರ ಆರಾಧ್ಯ ದೈವವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಶಂಕರ್ ನಾಗ್ ಅವರು, ಕಲಾ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಬಹುಮುಖ ರತ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಕೊಡುಗೆ. ಅವರ ನೆನಪುಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಕೆತ್ತಲಾಗಿದೆ.

It is that special day where our beloved state comes alive with the vibrant hues of Red and Yellow! The streets are adorned with the majestic Karnataka flag, fluttering proudly in the gentle breeze. But what truly captures the essence of our state's devotion is the heartwarming sight of our diligent drivers, who transform their humble vehicles into works of art filled with their love for Kannada. Auto Rickshaw drivers turn into true artists of the streets, where their autos become a canvas adorned with fragrant flowers, portraits of their favourite icons of Karnataka, and eloquent Kannada quotes. As we meander through the beautiful streets of our state, we can't help but be captivated by the presence of our beloved Naada Devathe, watching over us with a mother's affection. 'ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ' ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದದ ಜೀವಂತ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರ ನೆನಪುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ…
ಅರ್ಧ ಶತಮಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ, 1960ರ ದಶಕದ ಅಂತ್ಯದಿಂದ 2020ರವರೆಗೆ, ಈ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಳವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಸನ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಿ.ಟಿ.ಆರ್ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚಲ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಒಂದು ಪುಟವಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದುವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಕ್ಯಾಷಿಯರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರದ್ದು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವಹಿವಾಟಿನಲ್ಲೂ, ಕೇವಲ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಹಲವಾರು ಗ್ರಾಹಕರನ್ನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್, ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ಕಷ್ಟ ಸುಖದ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ 55ಕ್ಕಿಂತಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ಗಂಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಗೆ ನಾವು ಸದಾ ಆಭಾರಿ.

Remembering a lifetime of dedication: Our beloved employee, Mr. Somashekar!
For over half a century, from the late 1960s until 2020, one man consistently illuminated our desk and customers with his warm smile. In the tapestry of CTR's history, if there is one thread that stands out as an evidence to unwavering loyalty, it is that of our cherished cashier, Mr Somashekar's. With every transaction, he didn't just tally numbers but built relationships. He recognised young kids who grew up into loyal patrons of CTR, and shared in the joys and sorrows of countless customers. As we reflect on these precious 55+ years, we can't help but be filled with gratitude for the countless hours, the smiles, and the tireless commitment he offered to us.
Mr. Somashekar wasn't just a cashier…he was the heart and soul of family. His legacy continues to live on in the warm memories we hold close to our hearts.

ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ನಿಜವೇ?
1940ರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಈ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣವೇ ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ.
ಕಾಲದ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಯೋದ್ಧರ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಡಗಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ 'ಗಾಂಧಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಂಘವು' ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಕ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಮನಗಳು, ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು 🕊️
