This really moved us. That's the thing about going local, you see? It's this level of personalisation that you'll never get in a multi chain outlet. We knew as soon as this request came in that it could be none other than , and we're so glad we could give her her favourite one last time.

On the day that Mai died, on our way back from cremating her, and I stopped at .bglr for a late lunch. On the third chair at our table sat a pot with Mai's ashes in it. came by, introduced herself as the owner, and spoke with us. We talked about dogs and I pointed to Mai's ashes, subtracting her from the total number of dogs in the tally I was trying to brokenly give Ranjani. gave us the finest lunch we could've asked for, particularly the aglio e olio, my favourite food in the world.
Slate Café closes its doors today. I didn't even remember; I just had a massive craving for aglio e olio. So I took a chance on Swiggy, leaving a note and requesting something off the menu. My food came with this note from a fine man and his fine café. You know me. I cried a little.
These are difficult times. I promise to try and support as many small businesses as I can. I hope you do too.
Thank you, Slate Café, Ranjani, and Chef Sarvesh. I hope you know how much you mean to the neighbourhood. @ Slate Cafe
