Fast-forward a decade ago, Antonio & Janet got a place of their own, in a quiet spot off south of the Chapora River . Given its diminutive size, and converted into restaurant and guest house, embellished by scattered plants and trees, giving a feeling of discovery into a secret garden of a tropical rainforest, along with their background in private cheffing, it’s easy to imagine it as a fine dine
family atmosphere restaurant. The restaurant is a quaint little place and is open throughout the day for service of breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves traditional Goan food as well as continental cuisine. There is a breakfast bar, vegetarian menu, bar and music. Serving fresh seafood and vegetables grown in their own garden, Blue Bird offers a family atmosphere and a relaxing, open air ambience. Adding to the menu, a limited but thoughtful wine collection and as for the kitchen, Goan pork vindaloo – slow-cooked chunks of suckling pig cheek, with vinegary red chilli-garlic masala, spiced with sweet cinnamon and pounded coriander – is outstanding. Boasting their flavoursome vindaloo, xacuti and cafreal dishes, also try the prawn stuffed squid, crab thermidor, lemon fish or steak. The service has been reviewed for being welcoming and the staff gracious at this family run restaurant. The owners Antonio and Janet, who are very welcoming and always happy to accommodate your needs or give you visiting tips to enhance your trip.
