Cake decorating with her around is equal parts fun and headache! Miss her when she's not there, but when she is around, I have to constantly distract her so I can get my work done.

It's beginning to look, and smell, alot like Christmas around here.

Christmas isn't Christmas without the quintessential rich fruit cake.

An assortment of dry fruit is soaked well and early in a heady concoction of rum and brandy and left to soak in all that boozy goodness. Somewhere in the first week of December we bake our delicious Christmas cake so that we get enough of time to 'feed' the cake generously with some more rum and then leave it to allow all those lovely boozy flavours to infuse and mature so that on Christmas day, you have to the most indulgent cake that just fills the house with the flavour of Christmas the moment you slice into it.

And the entire baking ritual starts with some TLC for the cake tins, coz a well lined tin means a well turned out cake.

We're now taking orders for our Christmas cake, and we will be baking a limited quantity, so book early to avoid disappointment.
