The story of Tiffinity
Co-Founders: Manish Agarwal & Mitesh Shah
We made Tiffinity together from scratch, just an idea
We started selling long before the basic tech (website) was ready.
1. 1st chef recruitment (April, 2016)
2. 1st sale (May, 16)
3. View only website (July, 16)
4. 1st online sale (Aug, 16)
5. Bought domain tiffinity.com (Sep, 16)
6. Growth (1st 6 months) - 30% MOM
7. Employees - 0
8. Cost of Marketing - 0
9. Development Cost - 0
10. Founders Salary - 0
*Never had to put in money
*Never sold at a loss
*Never took profits home, always reinvested it back in the company
Didn't get funding in spite of a great brand & good product
(Food-tech was going through a bad phase in that period)
In 2 years:
- Served 1000+ unique customers
- Recruited 50+ home chefs
- Received 50+ genuine positive social media reviews on different platforms
-Received 200+ Chef Inquiries from Ahmedabad
Few of our customers & vendors tried to keep us alive in the end & requested us not to shut tiffinity down
One of the chef, still continues to do this business & is serving a couple of Tiffinity customers on a regular basis directly (as of yesterday)
In the end we shut down Tiffinity, due to losing out on opportunity cost & lack of funds to scale beyond Ahmedabad
Silver Lining:
Two strangers became co-founders & those co-founders became great friends
We still keep a demo alive in its memory, it was one hell of a journey even though it didn't turn out as we expected it to
Demo.tiffinity.com
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Chefs, Customers and evangelists, who made Tiffinity a known brand in Ahmedabad.
Mitesh & Manish signing off...
