🏆 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH🏆 - SEAN (AKA THE GOLDEN CALF)
This month's award goes to Sean, although probably better known by his unofficial title… The Golden Calf!
The nickname was bestowed on him in good old-fashioned Bailey banter, mostly because Sean has somehow managed to earn himself a solid reputation with our GM, Ned. We’re not saying Sean can do no wrong… but we are saying we’ve definitely noticed he has a knack for staying in the good books. Although with customers going out of their way praising Sean in reviews both in person and online, it’s fair to say the charm isn’t just working on Ned.
Now, a part of The Bailey folklore, The Golden Calf has taken on a life of its own…so much so we named one of our monthly cocktail specials after him & just like Sean himself, The Golden Calf went down an absolute storm with our customers. Apparently the Golden touch extends to cocktails too. 😂
Sean first joined in August 2022, following a very efficient recruitment process… he took over his brother’s job 🤣 Since then, he has left & returned more times than we can count, so now we don’t really consider it leaving anymore. It’s more of a short intermission before the next comeback tour.
Sean’s favourite task is watering the plants, while his least favourite is filling the sauce buckets, and when asked what he likes most about working here, his immediate answer was simply: Ned 😂 The rest of us have accepted where we stand.
The skill he reckons he’s improved most since joining us is the amount of plates he can carry at once and his top survival tip when the place is absolutely hopping is much simpler: drink water. Nothing complicated, just stay hydrated and carry on.
His favourite dish on the menu is the Chicken Stir Fry… minus the veg! His biggest piece of advice for new staff is to ask questions!
Sean is studying Primary Teaching in Marino, Dublin. His favourite colour is blue, he has 2 dogs Max & Jess & he hopes to one day actually leave the Bailey & travel around Australia.
All jokes aside, a very well-deserved congratulations to our plate-balancing extraordinaire, reluctant sauce-bucket filler, serial Bailey returnee Employee of the Month Sean!!
