Our latest "Employee of the Month" needs very little introduction! Having picked up the award last year, Bobby’s back again. And if you've been served by him, that won't come as much of a surprise.
Bobby first joined The Bailey on 4th Year work experience. He stayed on to help through the Christmas rush and, somewhere along the way, we seem to have accidentally adopted him. A year and a half later, he's still here... and we're not giving him back anytime soon.
If you've met Bobby, you'll also know he's approximately seven feet tall (or at least it feels that way). His first few months were spent expertly ducking under low beams and the CCTV cameras dotted around the building. He's mostly mastered the obstacle course now... although the occasional bump on the head still keeps us all smiling.
Heading into 6th Year, Bobby's favourite subject is Maths, while English sits firmly at the bottom of his nope list. After school, he's hoping to study primary teaching but if that plan changes, owning his own business is next on the agenda.
Around the restaurant, Bobby is happiest taking table orders (provided he remembers them correctly!), chatting with customers and enjoying the craic with the team. His least favourite job? Dressing function tables. If you've ever tried to "box" a tablecloth, you'll understand exactly why.
Bobbys secret to surviving a busy service to tackle one job at a time, not to do 100 things at once, and whatever happens... don't panic. His advice to any new team member is straightforward -don't be afraid to ask questions.
Outside The Bailey,, Bobby dreams of soaking up the views in Santorini, his favourite colour is red, and he'd choose invisibility as his superpower…although we'd probably still find him by following the sound of ceiling bumps. Bobby's top menu choice is our Southern Fried Chicken Burger.
His standout work memories include customers chanting for a pay rise for him & a towel with a team memebers face printed on it as a gift!!
Congratulations Bobby, and thanks for all your hard work. Here's hoping you and the ceiling beams can make your peace before we have to introduce helmets as part of our uniform 😀
