CALLAWAY OPEN SERIES FINAL – FRIDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER

Two separate Open Singles competitions will take place this Friday:

Callaway Order of Merit Final

Open to the competition winners, top 24 members and top 12 visitors who qualified during the series.

Each qualifier will have 5% of their accumulated Order of Merit points added to their Stableford score.

Prizes will be awarded for:

* 1st to 6th
* Best Gross
* Leading Qualifier

Open Singles Competition

A separate Open Singles competition will also take place, open to all golfers and with its own separate prizes.

Both competitions will run throughout Friday. Players can book any available time on the timesheet.

2026 Midland Windows Singles Matchplay

Congratulations to John Kirby, who was crowned the 2026 Midland Windows Singles Matchplay Champion following his victory over Liam Scally in Wednesday’s final.

It was a fantastic achievement from John in what was a large and competitive matchplay field. He produced a superb run through the knockout stages before overcoming Liam in the final to secure the title.

Liam also deserves huge credit for an excellent campaign, coming through a very strong side of the draw to earn his place in Wednesday’s decider.

A big thank you to everyone who took part throughout the season and, in particular, to Midland Windows for their continued sponsorship and support of the competition.

Congratulations again to John Kirby, our 2026 Singles Matchplay Champion, and well done to runner-up Liam Scally.

What a fantastic achievement for our ladies, who secured a terrific win against Greystones to book their place in the Revive Active Leinster Women’s Fourball Final.

A huge congratulations to the entire team on a wonderful performance.

A fantastic achievement by Tullamore Lions Club, who raised an incredible €30,000 for Laois and Offaly Families for Autism through their recent Golf Classic held here at New Forest Golf Club.

We were delighted to host the event and play a small part in supporting such a worthy local charity. Huge credit must go to everyone at Tullamore Lions Club, along with the many teams, sponsors and supporters whose generosity made the day such a success.

Congratulations to everyone involved — €30,000 is an outstanding amount that will make a real difference to L***A and the families they support throughout Laois and Offaly.

New 4-Week Group Coaching Programme Starts This Friday

I’m running two group coaching programmes on Friday evenings, with separate groups for ladies and men.

The programme runs for four consecutive Fridays, starting this Friday, 31st July, and will cover all areas of the game, including full swing, short game and putting.

It is suitable for complete beginners, anyone returning to golf, or anyone looking to improve their game in a relaxed group setting. Clubs can also be provided if required.

4 weekly sessions – €100

There are currently:

4 spaces remaining in the ladies’ group
2 spaces remaining in the men’s group

A membership pathway will also be available for non-members who would like to continue playing after the programme.

With the first session taking place this Friday, anyone interested should get in touch as soon as possible to secure a place.
