Storm update
Some advice ahead of storm Eunice making landfall. Storm Eunice is now a catagory Red storm. This means that it now poses a significant danger to life.
The first effects of storm Eunice will be felt at 04:00 when it first starts to make landfall with gusts reaching 100kmh. 05:00 wind gusts will be at 115kmh and by 06:00 wind gusts will be at a damaging 125-128kmh.
The wind will significantly reduce at 07:00. You may call this the eye of the storm. Don't get caught out as the wind will rapidly increase again by 08:00 and will continue to increase until it reaches it's peak at 09:00 when gusts will once again reach a damaging 124kmh-128kmh for a short time before starting to decline to 111kmh by 10:00 and below 100kmh by 11:00 and into the rest of the day.
You can expect a windchill of - 6 tomorrow morning with a possibility of snow. The chances of snow will increase when the wind switches around to a North West direction during a lull in the storm winds between 07:00-08:00.
Some tips for tomorrow:
Expect power outs - so charge your phone or power bank.
Have a way of contacting emergency services on 112 or 999.
Dont drive in the morning during the worst of the weather as you can expect down powerlines and trees.
Be careful of flying debris when outside.
Keep pets inside.
Stay away from open water areas and cliff faces.
Tie down trampolines and bring in the bins.
Best bet is to spend the morning in bed 😀
