Baked Halibut with Creamy Avocado Sauce
Ingredients:
- 4 halibut fillets (6 oz each)
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and white pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400Β°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Make the creamy avocado sauce: Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
3. Add sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, white pepper, and red pepper flakes if using to the avocado. Blend until smooth and creamy.
4. Pat halibut fillets dry and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with salt and white pepper.
5. Pour the creamy avocado sauce generously over the top of each halibut fillet, making sure to coat completely and create a visible, protective layer.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the halibut is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, and the avocado sauce is warm and slightly browned on top.
7. Remove from oven and let rest for 1 minute. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
