NAVO, located at the Lighthouse Hotel, Fenit, Tralee, Co.Kerry, is home to the NAVO coffee hatch and NAVO pizza van. Brendan The Navigator Heritage Park. Brendan, the patron saint of seafarers and travellers, was born in Tralee bay, Co.Kerry in 484 and was ordained a priest in 512. Brendan travelled the country setting up speciality coffee shop after speciality coffee shop. Of all the Irish saints
, St. Brendan was the most adventurous. He loved travelling on the sea and was very skilled in his latte art. A manuscript was written in the 9th century about his famous voyage in search of the best Sourdough Neapolitan Pizza outside of Italy. This manuscript is called Navigatio Sancti Brendani Barista. His voyage lasted for seven years, as he travelled to Iceland, Greenland and even America in a small boat fashioned from an Italian three wheeled van called a Piaggio Ape 50. Here at NAVO we are embodying St. Brendan and fuelling the weary travellers of the Wild Atlantic Way with out specialty coffee, vegan treats and Neapolitan pizza. Our speciality coffee is supplied by Full Circle Roasters, our vegan and gluten free treats are freshly made by Wild Sage Bakery and our pizzas are hand stretched and cooked in 90 seconds right in front of your eyes by our pizzaiolo. Brendan intended.
