A Massive Thank You ❤️

We would like to say a massive and heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out last Sunday to support our Annual Harvest Showdown Day and the Ann Hannon Memorial 50K Cycle.

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, and the beautiful sunshine certainly added to the fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many people from the local community and beyond coming together and making it such a memorable occasion.

A huge thank you to Paul Hannon for organising the 50K cycle, and to everyone who took part, helped with the organisation, provided support and made sure the event ran so smoothly. We really appreciate all the time and effort that goes into making an event like this possible.

🚂 The Star of Tottenhamgreen

A very special thank you, as always, to the White family of Tottenhamgreen for once again bringing their magnificent steam engine, The Star of Tottenhamgreen, into the village. It was, without doubt, one of the major highlights of the day and a real focal point for everyone who came along.

We would also like to thank everyone who brought along their vintage tractors, motorcycles, cars and other machinery and had them on display outside the pub. They added so much to the occasion and gave everyone something wonderful to admire.

🎶 The Music

And then there was the music! A massive thank you to all our fantastic musicians and singers who made the afternoon and evening so special:

• Wayne Hogan
• Mono
• Mick Delahunty
• Aoife Banville & Friends

A special thank you to Aoife Banville & Friends for providing fantastic traditional music throughout the afternoon. The atmosphere they created was absolutely brilliant.

Huge thanks also to Wayne Hogan for providing the sound and music, to Mick Delahunty on drums, and to Mono, who treated us to a few songs.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming the incredibly talented young Aoibhe Reville, who joined Wayne and Mick on stage with her banjo 🪕. What a fantastic performance from Aoibhe — she certainly impressed everyone!

And then, to make the evening even more special, we had a surprise visit from Marty from the well-known Irish band The Tumbling Paddies. Marty was enjoying a few days’ break in the southeast and decided to pay us a visit here at Cuckoos Corner. He joined Wayne, Mick and Aoibhe on stage, adding his fantastic button accordion playing to the mix. It was a brilliant surprise and a very special moment for everyone who was there. 🎶👏

🙏 A Huge Thank You to Our Sponsors

We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who sponsored, donated or supported the day in any way.

A special thank you to:

• Spar Supermarket Taghmon for the roast beef, which was cooked in the steam engine.
• Lar Whelan for the potatoes, which were also baked in the steam engine.
• Michael McLoughlin for sponsoring potatoes for the draw
• Tom Power for his continued support.

We would also like to once again send our sincere condolences to Tom and his family on the passing of his uncle. Our thoughts are with you all.

❤️ Finally, thank you to everyone who came through the doors, supported the event, donated, danced, sang, listened to the music, admired the vintage machinery, took part in the cycle or simply enjoyed the day with us.

It takes a huge amount of work from a lot of people behind the scenes to put a day like this together, and we are incredibly grateful to every single person who played a part.
