We're proud to announce that over the last 12 months, we have helped contribute to serving a mammoth 25,000 hot beverages in reusable cups at NUI Galway 🎓 having incentivised our customers to make the transition from single use take away cups - further reinforcing the University’s ambition to become one of the greenest, smartest, healthiest and community-focused campuses in the world.🌍

As well as having a huge environmental impact by significantly reducing the amount of single use cups ending up in the bin🗑️, the scheme has also saved the staff and students at NUI Galway as much as €5,000 in discounts.

**JOIN US FOR THE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING**

The festive season 🎅 at NUI Galway officially kicks off today as the University comes together for the lighting of the Christmas tree🎄.

Join the staff, students and friends from the community outside the O’Donoghue Centre on the South Campus at 3.30pm today as they switch on the Christmas lights.💡

We and the other campus caterers will be serving free food and festive fruit punch and entertainment 🎶 will be provided by the University choir and student societies.

There will also be a bucket collection in aid of COPE Galway and Galway R**e Crisis Centre.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
