It is with a heavy heart that Sid’s Diner will close its door to customers come the end of October. Employing up to seventeen staff at our busiest times, the café has traded successfully since 2006 serving a varied menu from full breakfasts to daily dinner specials.
We are bowing out after eighteen and half years at the counter as current times are proving too challenging. “We’re feeling a range of emotions from sadness for the staff at having to source new employment, to gratitude for the support of our wonderful customers, suppliers and fellow business people over the years”.
rising costs and no relief on VAT for restaurants , sourcing staff, are some of the issues that helped us reach a final decision on the matter. We’ve employed wonderful staff since we took over Sid’s and together we came through the floods of 2014, the pandemic, but the passing of Michael Sidney was a huge loss to us then and now”.
We came back strong after the tough Covid years and bar the normal business ups and downs we kept at it as a team, as we love what we do and serve good value food. We have customers crossing our door for decades to eat their daily meal or to have a cup of tea & chat with friends. We will miss their stories and the camaraderie shared here over a good slice of tart or comfy stew. I want to thank everyone from our teams past and present, to suppliers & service providers but most importantly to our customers for their loyalty and choosing to eat and drink here week in week out”.
Any person in possession of a valid gift voucher can redeem them in house Tues to Sat, over the coming month up to Halloween. We look forward to having a positive and busy end to our time in Marshmeadows,
