Eithna’s By the Sea award-winning Seafood Restaurant overlooks the harbour in Mullaghmore, Sligo. It is a friendly, family-run restaurant that caters for casual dining with homemade recipes using locally sourced food and sustainable produce. Established for over 16 years, Eithna’s By The Sea Seafood Restaurant in Mullaghmore won the Georgina Campbell Ireland Guide and BIM 2014 award for its fresh

seafood, shellfish and lobster dishes as well as Eithna's use of seaweed in both savoury and sweet dishes. Even though Eithna's speciality is seafood, she has plenty of other options for non fish eaters from meat to vegetarian dishes. Her scrumptious homemade cakes served with lavazza coffee is a favourite in the mornings. Overlooking picturesque Mullaghmore harbour, County Sligo, on the Wild Atlantic Way, take a table outside when the sun is out and relax and enjoy watching the lobster fishing boats come and go from Donegal Bay and the tourists heading out to explore the monastic settlement at Inishmurray Island. Come and see our new look when we re-open at Easter! And not to be missed when the waves are right, Mullaghmore is increasingly becoming famous as one of the best spots in Europe for its biggest and best waves by the world’s top international surfers. Watch them arrive into Mullaghmore armed with boards and jetskis to catch the biggest and best waves. Professional surfer, Andrew Cotton, was recently nominated for a global surfing award for catching a 15.2m (50ft) wave just off Mullaghmore having hung about in Bundoran for 3 months looking for the right wave. We cook everything in-house, with breads baked on the premises and all our desserts homemade by Eithna. All our food is produced and sourced locally; organic vegetables come from Aidan Gillen at the Tattie Hoaker Community Organic Farm in Cliffoney, fresh fish from mackerel and hake to squid, clams and mussels is brought in from the Mullaghmore fishing boats daily and our lobsters come from the lobster pond beside the restaurant. And if you're not a fish-lover, there's plenty of other options available from meat to vegetarian dishes. Daily Specials feature on the blackboard inside the restaurant. Soak in the sun's rays at a table outside the restaurant when the weather is good overlooking Mullaghmore beach and harbour. Alternatively, the tables inside the restaurant offer excellent sea and harbour views.

"After much consideration over the last few months I have finally decided to permanently close the doors of Eithnas By the Sea bringing to an end over three decades of my passion and love of running what became an iconic Seafood Restaurant on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The current climate running small businesses has become very challenging, together with the difficulties of sourcing seasonal staff, have made this decision happen at this time..

I am indebted to the wonderful people both local and those who have come from all over the globe to support Eithnas ..the hard working teams who have come and gone over the many seasons, all the local suppliers, trades people who came at all hours, the local artists whose work both outside and inside helped to create the atmosphere/ website / flower arrangements and the many friends who stepped in in various ways in hours of need..thank you all from the bottom of my heart..

Memories have been made its time for a younger generation to take the helm.."
