Hi folks, just a quick update on the premises formally known as THE OBAMA CAFE. I have a few clients interested in leasing the units from me. I have mixed emotions at the moment, excited to see someone put a business into, what is a fine premises. But deep down, I would have loved to have seen something of a community based project take it on. Maybe something like a community run cafe, a library, somewhere for our young people to meet up, tourist information, computer training, local crafts, resource centre, etc or a combination of all of the above. With the right support from the relevant authorities, it could be cost free and hopefully gain back some activity in our village. Onwards and upwards.

Hi folks, its with a heavy heart that we put up this post. We at the Obama Cafe have decided to close our doors for the last time on Saturday the 8th of November 2014. A decision forced upon us but still not easy to make. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic staff, all of you were superb, a massive thanks to our loyal customers, without whom, we would not have lasted three years, our family and friends who were so supportive, throughout those years. It was over three years where, we built up a fantastic friendship with people from all over Ireland and indeed all over the world. Special thanks to the Moneygall knit and natter group, who were the highlight of our Thursdays. Thanks to all our suppliers, who gave us the best of products, over the time. Thanks to Tom Hanlon who organised all our fabulous paint work, beautiful hand painted Irish and American murals. If you would like to visit us throughout our last week of business, please feel free to do so, all our souvenirs and T shirts are massively reduced, take this opportunity to pick up some little piece of Moneygall history. Again a massive thank you to all concerned with The Obama Cafe.
