We are delighted to say that we are now on TooGoodToGo!!

What is TooGoodToGo I hear you say??? This great initiative is helping combat food waste and helps prevent good food going in the bin.

Each day, we will have a surprise bakery bag available to purchase* (on the app) and collect in store, with us, between 4-5pm.

The bag will contain a selection of baked goods with a retail value of approx €12, at a cost of €4.

This is new to us so.please be patient with us while we get to grips with it!!

* Please note the availability of the Suprise Bag is subject to surplus food and therefore may not always be available

Monaghan County Council is offering grants of up to €500 to support local groups in running events for Climate Action Week (12th–18th October 2026).
This year’s theme is:
👉 Act Local: Rethink, Repair, Reuse
Got an idea for a workshop, repair café, biodiversity event, or sustainable living activity? This is your chance to bring it to life and inspire real climate action in your community.
✅ Open to community groups, Tidy Towns, residents’ associations & not-for-profits (PPN members)
✅ Events must be free, public & held in County Monaghan
✅ Follow MCC Event Guidelines & Green Your Festival Guidance

It’s been exactly one month since Monaghan Has It Day 🤯 Should we do it all again next year?

We wanted to say a big thank you to all those who helped us make it happen.

🫶🏻 Our fellow members of the Monaghan Town Team and all the family members we roped in to help!

👷‍♂️The Monaghan MD staff from Monaghan CoCo. Special shout out to Colm Lynch and his outdoor staff, as well as Liz Brannigan (and not forgetting Caitlin) and the Civil Defence.

👥 To all the community groups who showed up on the day, thank you – there were over 50 groups in our ‘Community Village’!

👯‍♀️ All the music and entertainment was provided by local performers and we can't thank you enough for sharing your talents with us on the day.

🛍️ To all the local businesses who got involved, we thank you for going that extra mile.

🙏🏽 Major thanks to our funders: Monaghan CoCo and Monaghan MD, O’Hanrahan Travel, Ward’s Life Pharmacy and the Squealing Pig.
