Mc Kenna's Bar is a well known family run pub established in 1936. It has 2 bars, the Anchor and the Brewery. The Anchor is the original bar located on the ground floor which has a real genuine Pub atmosphere.We have been noted as having one of the best pints of stout in County Monaghan.And we have a games room with pool table and retro arcade machine. ue, which hosts rock, blues and alternative bands and DJ's.We have a large outdoor area with two marquees and a bar in the summer months. We have an Open Mic in the bar like no other with a different host every Thurs so each week is unique it has grown in stature with artists performing from all over Europe and America and we have been inundated with acts looking to host but it is an Open Mic so if your a seasoned professional or play tunes as a hobby this is a night for YOU! And we have The longest running Blues jam in the Country that take's place the last Friday of every month hosted by Dez Murphy and his house band musicians regularly attend from Belfast to Drogheda but newbies our always welcomed! Due to the high level of demand from musicians and artists seeking to participate in the ‘Gaza go Bragh’ fundraiser tomorrow it is now unfortunately necessary to POSTPONE until Sunday July 5 for the purpose of coordinating all and everything involved. The spirit of intent and determination in raising funds, raising awareness and raising the roof is as strong as ever among the Monaghan IPSC and our humanitarian focused communities as when this event was first planned.
