I've just received a lovely message from a customer. This cake went out on 5th September but due to illnesses they unfortunately had to postpone Charlotte's party until today. This cake was baked on 3rd, 16 days ago. If you ever find yourself in this situation, freeze it. It's that simple. Cake freezes really well, yes, even with all those fondant decorations. Leave it in the box it comes in, wrap the entire box in a few layers of clingfilm and freeze. Bring it out of the freezer the night before you need it, the important bit DO NO UNWRAP. The next day bring it out of the box and nobody will be any the wiser. The decorations remain intact and the best bit, the texture stays exactly as it should. A few customers have done this with me over the years when they have wanted a cake for over the Christmas period when I'm closed. They get it 2 weeks beforehand. It's the perfect solution.....you just need a BIG freezer 🙈

I've always loved making cute Christening cakes 😍 And it's always special as it's a child's very first cake. I've been so lucky that there are some families where I've made the Christening cake and every birthday cake after that for years. I feel blessed to have been a part of those all important memories.
