The Thatch Lisselton is a family run business based in North Kerry on the Wild Atlantic Way. Established in 1832, it is one of the few thatched bars remaining in Ireland. Four generations of the O Sullivan family operated the business up until June 2017 when husband & wife John O Connor & Joanne Riordan a Lisselton natives took it over. The old traditional style bar remains and features a welcomin

g open fire with an original pot and crane. The lounge and restaurant were added in 1993 and you can find an extensive Bar Menu serving delicious food and drinks in a relaxed setting. Opened 5 days Wednesday to Sunday from May to September and 3 day Fridays to Sundays from October to April. Christmas opening hours are longer so keep a check on social media platforms for opening hour updates. The premises is located at the foot of Cnoc an Oir (The Hill of Gold) halfway between Listowel and Ballybunion (8 km each way), 16km from Tarbert car ferry and 50 km from Kerry Airport. It is ideally situated along the Wild Atlantic Way North Kerry route. The Thatch Lisselton is ideally suited for tourists visiting Ballybunion Golf Club or the beach and is a major attraction for visitors to the Listowel Races. Traditional music is a regular feature especially with the local wren boys at Christmas time. Located in the centre of North Kerry The Thatch Lisselton is the ideal venue for all parties and functions.
