We are very lucky that our predecessors had the wisdom and foresight to maintain this beautiful bar and main bar furniture in its original format since it was last refurbished in 1913. It oozes old world charm and is only o

ne of a very few remaining gems to be found now with such genuine character and atmosphere. Our customers and new comers alike, are delighted to have the chance to visit and experience a truly authentic Irish pub, as its type and style is now becoming increasingly rare. TV and radio are intentionally omitted and this is greatly welcomed by all who call in for a chat and to meet with friends. A commemoration plaque which was presented to the O'Brien family for my Grandfather Commandant Paddy O'Brien is positioned on the outside wall visible from the street and footpath. It has great significance to our family and the local area. Out of respect for this commemoration plaque and in keeping with minimalist old style ways - we do not have modern brightly lit advertising on the outside of the bar. Instead, the outside reflects what you can expect to find inside the bar - that of true authenticity.
