⚠️ 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗣𝗘𝗧 𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 ⚠️

In light of the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗱 - 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 issued by Met Éireann for Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo, we are urging all pet owners to take extra precautions as 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 É𝗼𝘄𝘆𝗻 approaches. This storm is predicted to be one of the worst in decades, with 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 130𝗸𝗺/𝗵. Please take the following steps to ensure the safety of your pets:

1.𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀: Double-check that all fences, gates, and enclosures are secure. Ensure your pets are not left unattended outside.

2.𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘀: Ensure your pets have enough drinking water in case of any power outages or disruptions to water supply.

3.𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱: If you need to let your dog out for any reason, always use a lead. Storms often cause dogs to panic and run away, leading to them getting lost - sometimes traveling far distances and crossing county borders.

4.𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀: As much as possible, keep your pets inside to protect them from the elements and reduce the risk of them becoming frightened and fleeing.

From our experience, many dogs go missing during storms. 𝗢𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁. To avoid this, please be responsible and ensure your pets are safe.
