Our friend is putting on this tour next week for .ziadah!

We will be heading along the Sligo event on the 23rd 🇵🇸❤️🇵🇸❤️

Rafeefs work is beautiful and powerful - so please come out to support ❤️

From -

Palestinian poet and spoken word artist Rafeef Ziadah brings her powerful catalogue of poetry to the stage featuring selections from her latest album "Three Generations" and earlier works from "We Teach Life".

With original musical compositions by Phil Monsour, this sequence of interconnected poems serves as a poignant and personal tribute to Palestine, chronicling Al-Nakba, exile, defiance, and survival. ‘Let it Be a Tale’ is a dedicated ode to Palestinian youth who still fly kites in the face of F16 bombers, who still remember the names of their villages in Palestine and still hear the sound of doves over Gaza.

Our Farewell Event is this Friday ❤️

And we are excited! We will have some friends and performers who made the cafe such a special place taking part in evening.

Donal O'Kell is a playwright, writer, actor & great pal of the café - Donal will be performing a piece on Friday. Donal performed his 1 man show - the classic Irish theatre ‘Catalpa’ in the stunning outdoor setting of Manorhamilton Castle and we were blown away by it - he has also supported & taken part in many solidarity events at the cafe & we are really delighted to have him involved in our farewell!

Treasa Nealon is a writer, theatre creator & playwright based in Manor. Her plays have been produced in Ireland, the UK & the US. Treasa has put on plays in the castle, has developed works & has even hosted a mad hatters tea party at the cafe - on Friday she will be presenting a piece of new work that she had spent time workshopping at the cafe we are so delighted to have been able to support her work and it feels great to have her at the farewell.

Phoebe is a songwriter, wordsmith & artist based in Manorhamilton. She is the wonderful host of the Open Mic at the Cafe ❤️ alongside Hedda and Zoltan and we are buzzed to have her with us for a few more witty & tender songs for the farewell. Phoebe was there at the cafe from day 1 volunteering and mucking in with us whenever we needed it and we are so thrilled to have here with us for the eve.

Tara Baoth Mooney is a musician, multidisciplinary artist a friend of the cafe. Tara was involved in the festivals, films, gigs & solidarity events there - she will join us for a songs or two with The Hammonds band & we can't wait!

The Hammonds are a family band with Dadso Ray with Aoife, Karen & Suzanne. The Hammonds sing folk and traditional songs & for the Farewell gig they will be singing the Songs of Leonard Cohen - something they have done together for many years but not very often so it's a real treat for the family to come together for this special evening.

We will have a few more guests joining us on Friday evening too

DOORS AT 7PM
€12 On the door or eventbrite but no-one turned away for lack of funds - everyone welcome!

🌟 Farewell Announcement 🌟

As many of you know - we have decided to close Fulacht Fiadh Cafe. It's a decision we have not made lightly and made with heavy hearts - after three incredible years of being in business and of being part of the vibrant Manorhamilton community.

To all our regulars, you've become like family to us, and we deeply miss your warmth and laughter filling the space. From our everyday trade to hosting events, festivals and fundraisers, each moment shared with you has been truly special.

We would like to thank each and every one of you who supported us and helped make Fulacht Fiadh Cafe such a unique place. We thank our dedicated staff, our local suppliers- Carrow for the best coffee, Lyons Bakehouse for gorgeous sourdoughs, the Organic Centre, Meenymore Cottage, Leitrim Hill Creamery, Lovely Leitrim Raw Milk, Glenfarne Honey and all other makers we had in store. We thank the helping hands of friends, our wonderful customers, everyone who organized events with us, everyone who played music here, held workshops and talks or screenings, who sang or danced, read poetry, set up sound, lights and staging, hands which helped grow our garden and everyone who helped build the community space which was Fulacht Fiadh Cafe.

As a goodbye get together and last hurrah, we have a special gig in mind. We’d love to see you there.

Keep an eye out for details.

If you have an photos or videos of the cafe please send them our way - we'll be sharing some of our favourite memories on here over the next while ❤️

Thank you for being part of our journey.

'Our hearts break but we cannot let them. Because there is work to do'

'If there is a word for courage, that word is P4LESTINE'

These words are from a piece by Sorcha Fox on at ourPalestine Solidarity event on Sunday.

Here are some beautiful pictures taken by Róisín Loughrey

Many thanks to everyone who performed, volunteered + attended - it was a beautiful evening of music, words + coming together in our community.

Very special thanks to Salem Gharbia for sharing his experience and speaking about his homeplace of Gaza

Manorhamilton stands with Palestine

We know that hosting solidarity and fundraising events is not enough. We all need to do everything we can to support our friends, comrades + all the people of palestine. What is happening/has been happening in Palestine is Genocide and we must speak out

Here are somethings that you can do if you are feeling helpless -
Write to your politicians - pressure them into action - pressure them to expell the Israeli ambassador has 4 draft letters for politicians in their bio -

Attend protests + vigils - they are happening almost everyday all over the country - the have updates on what's happening daily

Learn about + find out how to join the BDS-boycott divestment and sanction movement -boycott Isr4eli goods + those that support the isr4eli apartheid state

Take Direct Action - + other groups around the country are organising events

are organising a protest at shannon airport on sunday 12Nov @ 2pm to protest US military using the airport as a passage for soldiers and weapons to the middleeast.

Be vocal about your support of palestine, use your platform as an artist, venue, business, institution.
Amplify palestinian voices on the ground - share the realities of what is happening are some of those reporting from Gaza

If you are looking for information and resources on all things palestine - has compiled a google drive of info that is easy to use + gathers info into one place.
