We keep our groups small, with a maximum of 6 riders at a time, so advanced booking is essential.

Celebrate the joys of spring on the doorstep of Bealtaine with a guided foraging walk in the Slieve Aughty region. Together, we’ll seek out hawthorn and other wild herbs, gathering leaves and flowers of edible and medicinal plants to make salads, tonics, tinctures, and teas.

The workshop is led by Edward Blain, a forager with over 14 years of experience. Trained in England, he has worked professionally with wild herbs and mushrooms across England, the United States, and Ireland, supplying restaurants and farmers markets.

Edward is deeply passionate about edible and medicinal plants and has been involved in land restoration and wild plant regeneration projects. He brings a strong respect for the forest and its ecosystems, guiding participants to safely and confidently identify wild plants and understand their uses.

You’ll learn how to gather, clean, prepare, preserve, and cook with the wild plants of Slieve Aughty.
