The hotel and clock tower looking great together in the same shot. Built in 1880, the Clock remains an iconic island landmark.

Originally there was just the lower section, but the Knight of Kerry decided to make the building more aesthetically attractive by adding the upper Clock Tower, including a four faced clock.

Knightstown Tidy Towns lead the restoration of the Town Clock in 1990.

On Friday evening, we were honoured to host the Gala Dinner for the Valentia Lecture 2026, the 10th in it’s series here at the Royal Valentia Hotel.

It was a wonderful occasion bringing together distinguished guests, speakers and members of the community to celebrate a decade of thought-provoking discussions and the unique legacy of the Valentia Lectures.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable evening of conversation, connection and celebration in the heart of Valentia Island.
