Kilrush Golf Club

Kilrush Golf Club 18 hole parkland course in the town of Kilrush, in County Clare, on the Wild Atlantic Way. The ninth hole is breathtaking.

Please reach out if you'd like to discuss membership options (€160 per year if you live over 60km from the course!) or would like to book green fees. Kilrush Golf & Sports Club is situated half a mile outside the old heritage town of Kilrush and was founded in 1934. The new course which was re-designed by Dr. Arthur Spring in 1994, is a gem. The clever use of the natural terrain combined with wate

r, trees and sand bunkers has resulted in a scenic course that is a pleasure to play. Played from a plateau, this par 3 which measures 168 yards to the green set in the valley is guarded on three sides by water and with sand on the fourth side, the choices are “be up or lay up”. The index one, 11th hole measures 421 yards but only the brave will take on the water in order to reach the green in two. The closing five holes, depending on the direction of the wind, can be a severe test before the warmth of the Clubhouse & Restaurant where you can relax, enjoy a drink and chat and choose from our exciting menu. Referred to as one of the friendliest clubs in Ireland, we welcome past and present members, visitors, societies, juniors and diners to our club and restaurant. We would like to thank you for your continued support and hope that you enjoy our course and your golf!

Our Competitions secretary has been hard at work, setting up a four-day re-entry tournament to take advantage of the sunshine. The course is in brilliant shape at the moment, thanks to the hard work of the groundskeeping staff.

White or Yellow tees are in play, so please choose a set when signing in and stick to those for the round.

Visitors and guests are extremely welcome to take part, and we'll do our best to accommodate any requests. If you've been on the fence about trying out our course, this is a great opportunity to play it in great weather, at a great price. Hope to see plenty of ye out there!

We want to thank everyone involved in our Pierce Purcell side for their hard work over the last few months. While the result didn't go our way at the weekend, it was a very close match, with all games going to the 18th hole.

Thanks to the Nenagh team for competing in great spirits, and for making the trek back west.

Our Johnson's Bar Kilrush Spring Series prizegiving was a great success on Friday night, beginning with some hilarious speeches from our Competitions Secretary Malcolm, Captain Brian, and Spring Series sponsor-extraordinaire Shawna. The laughs continued with the presentation of a special prize to one of our esteemed management committee members . . .

The membership turned up in brilliant numbers to show their appreciation for the continued sponsorship, and everyone was delighted to hear that we'll have another iteration running early next year!

Our 2026 winner, Finbar, gave a great speech, thanking everyone involved, and let us know it was his second 18-hole competition win! Congratulations to all prize-winners for their brilliant results.

Thanks to Malcolm for arranging the pizza delivery following the prizegiving, and to the staff at Johnson's for brilliant service. And of course, thanks as always to our visitors for taking part in the Spring Series.

A huge thanks to our Interclub Mixed Foursomes team for their hard work over the past few weeks. The match didn't go how we wanted, but the pairings pushed their Lahinch GC counterparts all the way. The course was in fine shape and the wind added an extra element to challenge both sides.

We really appreciated the great sportsmanship from the Lahinch side, and it was fantastic to see all the supporters turn up to support their club.

Thanks, of course, to Martina and her team for the refreshments provided afterwards in the clubhouse.

Huge thanks to our Ladies teams for representing the club so well recently in interclub competitions.

The first photo is of our Ladies Intermediate Foursomes team, who met Shannon in April. While the result didn't go our way, it was a fantastic match.

The second photo is from our Ladies Minor Foursomes team, whose home match with Dromoland came down to a nineteenth hole playoff, with the visiting side prevailing.

We can't thank the players and coach enough for their time and dedication to representing our club.

Best of luck to our Mixed Foursomes interclub team, taking on Lahinch today at KGC at 1pm. The sun and excellent condition of the course should make for a brilliant match.

As always, we can't thank our players and coaches enough for the time and effort they put into representing the club.

If you're free, please come out and support our team! Any club-branded gear you have would be fantastic, if possible.

Huge congratulations to our Pierce Purcell Shield team on their 2.5–1.5 victory against Limerick GC yesterday! What a day for our interclub sides!

It was a great team effort throughout, with the tie going right down to the final match where Eoin and Barry secured the crucial half point needed for victory with a par on the 18th. Thanks to David, Michael, Pat, Tom, Geremiah, John, Eoin and Barry and the rest of the squad and managers for representing the club so brilliantly.

The team will play the winners of Nenagh v Ballykisteen in the next round later this month, and we'll be sure to share the date in advance, once the fixture has been arranged.

Thanks to the Limerick GC visiting team for brilliant sportsmanship throughout, and for their flexibility in making the journey over on a midweek evening.

Best of luck to the team in the next round, and we really appreciate the support we had from our members.

Congratulations to the Kilrush boys team on a fantastic victory over Lahinch GC yesterday evening in the Fred Daly Trophy! A brilliant achievement for the team and everyone involved with underage golf at Kilrush Golf Club!

The match finished 2–2, with the final game going all the way to the 22nd hole in quickly fading daylight, where Brian Conway pitched and putted for par to seal a dramatic victory for Kilrush.

All matches were played in the positive spirit of the game, and the Lahinch GC team and mentors showed great sportsmanship throughout.

Well done to the full Kilrush panel: Brian Conway, Tom Browne, Jayden Murray, Sean Nagle, Ruairi Young and Darragh Coleman. We're all very proud to have such talented young golfers in our club!

A special thank you as well to Jim and Donncadh for all their work and support with the team.

Another successful Johnson's Bar Kilrush Spring Series is in the books!

Huge congratulations to Finbar for prevailing at the weekend, with Dominic and Paul rounding out the podium.

Jack's 73 was the round of the weekend, taking home a much-deserved Gross Prize.

Thanks to Malcolm, our Competitions Secretary, for weeks upon weeks of getting scorecards and publishing results.

We really appreciated the number of entrants each week, and the turnout of visitors was extremely encouraging.

Finally, we want to extend an enormous thanks to Shawna and the team at Johnson's for their continued support for our Spring League. We'll have the prizegiving this Friday, May 8th at 9pm in Johnson's and we hope to see as many of the winners and participants as possible (at least those old enough to attend!).
