Pictures from a recent tour with a lovely family who were staying with our friends Richard and Bairbre over at Johnsfort, Ireland At Your Leisure…They have an amazing farm home stay featuring some really cool and friendly farm animals …funny looking goats…hairy cows etc.

A really fun tour with the smaller hands making some amazing bread.

Weekly opendays are going well so drop to one this summer to learn all about the story of farming and mills, flour, baking and more besides… ticket only https://martrymill.ie/tours/summer-tours/

This weekends tour will feature a little more than normal on the story of Lughnasa and the Tailteann games. For most likely 1000s of years Teltown across the river was the busiest place in Ireland at this time of year.

This festival established by Lugh remembered the Tailtiu queen. She was a farming pioneer and is the goddess of bread.

Thanks to our friends at Headfort Arms and at Loughcrew Megalithic Centre and everyone else who have also being sending groups out to the mill 🙏

Some flour Tetris in order this morning to get last nights flour delivered today. It’s always a lovely road trip over to see my friends at O’Neills Bakery in beautiful Annagassan. I stopped off with flour and for some breakfast over at Doughtys Wilkinstown and PARK BEO Greenway Hub along the way which was busy with people out enjoying the greenway. The Glyde Inn Annagassan is highly recommended for amazing award winning food complimented by what has to be one of the nicest settings anywhere
