Hi guys, we've got another lovely weekend ahead here in the café. We have our delicious fish tacos with haddock from Ros an Mhíl, harissa mayo, slaw and beautiful soft shell blue corn tortillas from Blanco Nino. We've got our potted crab with velvet cloud sheep's yoghurt from mayo on brown soda with lovely leaf from An Garraí Glas and pickled cucumbers. Most importantly though, look what's back. We;ve got our Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese (Best Mature Cheese, Eurotoques Food Awards 2026) back in our bacon toastie! Can't wait to see ye!

Dathanna déanacha an tsamhraidh | the colours of late summer

Tá athrú le braith san aimsir agus rabharta mór an tsamhraidh thart. Is am álainn í seo i gConamara. Tá na cúrsaí Gaeilge ag druidim chun deiridh, ach tá gáirí na ngaeilgeoirí fós le cloisteáil timpeall. Tá muintir na háite ag filleadh ar an ngnáth-rithim agus i breá linn sibh a fheiceáil timpeall arís. Táimíd ag súil go mór leis an bhfómhar agus na deiseanna cruthaíochta a thagann leis. Sibhse a bhí linn sa samhradh, go raibh maith agaibh ar fad. Sibhse a bheidh linn san fhómhar, táimid ar bís sibh a fheiceáil.

There's a change in the weather with the swell of summer coming to a close. This is a beautiful time in Conamara. The Irish courses are all but finished but the students laughter still carries across the fields. Our locals are returning to their normal rhythms and we love to see you around again. We're fierce excited for autumn and the creative opportunities it brings. Those of you who joined us in summer, thank you. Those of you who we'll see in autumn, we can't wait!

Due to an unforeseen staff shortage our opening hours need to change. We will be open from Wednesday to Sunday every week. We will be closed Tuesdays. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Bhí béile álainn againn aréir agus mé (Diarmuid) ag iarraidh buíochas a ghabháil le mo chuid foirne. Thug siad an aire don chaifé, dá phobal agus dá chéile le mí anuas a fhad is a bhí mé ar shaoire atharthachta rud a thug spás dom féin dul i gcleachtadh ar a bheith i mo thuismitheoir den chéad uair agus tá mé thar a bheith buíoch dóibh as an am speisialta sin a bheith agam.

We had a beautiful meal last night in Sáile. I (Diarmuid) wanted to thank our team for looking after the café, our community and each other for the last month while I have been on paternity leave and getting used to life as a parent for the first time. I am incredibly grateful to them for allowing me to have that very special time.

Míle buíochas le Sáile ar an Spidéal a thug an-aire go deo dúinn. Tá siad théis cur go mór leis an gceantar ó d'oscail siad le déanaí!
