A rivalry that had divided the parish of Inch for decades. Family members playing for different clubs, even John Foley played for both clubs. It has been a hot topic and a great debate in the pub for years and no doubt will continue to be debated as the years pass on.

Annascaul vs Keel. Saturday at 5pm at Austin Stack Park.

We will be closed for food today!! Our chefs and servers have worked tirelessly over the last few months so we’re giving them the evening off.

The bar will still be open and the restaurant will be back open tomorrow.

While the much-publicised visit of Dolly to Páidí Ó Sé’s pub that autumn tends to attract most of the attention and has become almost the stuff of legend, less than 40 kilometres away Dolly enjoyed a much less staged meeting with locals – one where she sat at the bar sipping coffee, discussing her life and sharing stories that were relatable to Fidelis Foley

“She stayed in our place for an hour-and-a-half and no one knew about it,” Fidelis said. "She was humble. I could have been talking to anyone."

She and Dolly had much in common and instantly struck up an organic conversation that focused mostly on their rural childhoods and the fact that they both came from large families

After rummaging through old photos to see if we had anymore of Dolly Parton, we found this photo of John’s mother, Bridie, and Walter Hagan. Walter was Dolly’s Irish connection and friend, who brought her along the trip!

It was a very unexpected visit but we were thrilled to welcome her to Inch. A wonderful woman who did a multitude of great things throughout her career and life.

May she rest in peace

The weather didn’t put off the Munster vintage motorcycle and car club, as they stopped by the pub this morning with some classic bikes.
